2019 Honor Society Inductees
La Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad, Los Patriotas Chapter, is the Carrollwood Day Middle School Spanish Honor Society.
The Carrollwood Day School Chapter is a society that recognizes scholarship, fellowship and service by middle school students. Eligible students have maintained by the end of their 7th grade year, a 93% or better average in Spanish as well as a 3.8 overall average in their core courses of study. The Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad, is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) and was formally organized in the year 2000. The purpose of the society is to promote cross-cultural acceptances and understanding in students of Spanish and to encourage service to school and community. At the heart of the Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad are activities in three areas: ambassadorship, service to community, and service to school.
Having fulfilled the requirements for membership into this prestigious organization, the inductees were honored for their high achievements in the study of the Spanish language at their induction banquet on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. The students prepared a video documentary of their many activities during the past year.
