Welcome Kelvin Jones
Carrollwood Day School is pleased to announce the hiring of Kelvin Jones as the school’s new head coach for boys soccer. Jones, a longtime coach on the local soccer scene, brings a wealth of experience at various levels.
Jones currently serves as the Director of Soccer at Tampa Bay United Soccer Club (TBU). In addition to that role at TBU, he has also coached multiple top ranked teams including the U16 National Champions in 2017. Jones has previously coached boys' and girls' high school teams at IMG Academy, Plant High School, and Chamberlain High School. His most recent high school coaching position at IMG Academy was in 2015, when he led their girls' team to an undefeated season featuring 27 wins. The team finished the season ranked number one in the state, region and country.
Jones played collegiately at the University of South Florida, where he helped lead the Bulls to three conference championships from 1981-1984. He returned to USF from 1994-1996 as an assistant coach, which included helping to recruit the US National Team’s and Major League Soccer’s Jeff Cunningham. Go Patriots!
