ECC Faculty Update
Exciting news from the Early Childhood Campus! We are thrilled to announce new additions to our dynamic staff. Please read more about the teachers who will be joining us in the 2017-18 school year:
Teresa Krig is joining CDS from a neighboring independent school. Teresa graduated with a B.S. from Eastern Kentucky University and has been teaching for more than 15 years. Parents and colleagues describe her as an enthusiastic teacher whose energy is contagious. Teaching is in her blood: both of her parents were teachers and instilled in her their love and passion for our future generations. Teresa has one daughter, Kacy, who attends CDS high school and plays indoor and beach volleyball. Teresa’s resource teacher will be Ms. Beyer.
Jenna Knoke also is joining CDS after spending a few years at a neighboring independent school. Jenna has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston and a M.A. in Reading Education from the University of South Florida. She brings to CDS four years of kindergarten teaching experience and one year of pre-kindergarten teaching experience. Jenna is excited to be joining CDS and to provide our students with a memorable kindergarten year! Her resource teacher will be Mrs. Tolson.
Rachel Paggio has been part of the CDS family since she was three years old! She was a student here for 10 years, then, after receiving a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from USF, and while obtaining her M.A. in the same field, she taught preschool at the ECC for five years. After taking some time off to raise her children, she returned to CDS as a parent two years ago, and now is returning to the CDS faculty full-time. We are thrilled to welcome her back! Rachel is married and has two children who attend the ECC: Piper in kindergarten and Tucker in Toddlers.
Carolin Fleischacker graduated from the University of Wuppertal, Germany, with a Master`s Degree in Elementary Education in 2001 and has been a teacher ever since, teaching all age groups from 5 to 11 year olds in Germany and Switzerland. In October 2015, she and her family moved to Tampa, where she taught first and second grade in a local public school before joining CDS in October 2016. Her son, Dylan, is a pre-kindergarten student at the ECC, and Carolin is very excited to be joining him as part of the ECC family!
Stacy Slater has lived in the Tampa Bay area for more than 15 years with her husband, Scott, and their four children. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Stetson University. Stacy taught for several years with experience in kindergarten, second grade, and third grade before deciding to be a stay-at-home mom to her children. In 2015, she went back to work teaching at a local preschool in the Westchase community, where she taught 3 and 4 year olds. Her three younger children attend CDS: Gabe (8th grade), Addison (4th grade) and Ellie (kindergarten). Her free time is spent watching her kids play sports, exercising, playing outdoors, and attending University of Florida football games.
