Athletics Week in Review

Week of August 26, 2019

Varsity: In a last minute schedule change, our Patriots fought hard in their first home game of the season against the Northside Christian Mustangs on Thursday night in the Wagner Athletic Complex. A beautiful touchdown was made by Reidel A. on a kick return, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a loss to NSC, 6-40.

MS: The Middle School team hosted the Out of Door Academy Thunder on Thursday afternoon in their first home game of the season. This season opener ended in a disappointing loss of 12-40.

Wednesday – Due to the low number of schools who are fielding a girls golf team this season, the Lady Patriots had few options other than to schedule one of the top teams in the county to open their season. The Academy of Holy Names showed their strength early and never let up as they soundly defeated a talented, but very young, CDS squad. Olivia H. and Hailey A.-K. were top scorers for the team with Riley H. and Chase S. rounding out the scoring.

Thursday – At hard to find Hernando Oaks, the Patriot boys’ team continued their winning ways with solid wins over Hernando Christian and Bishop McLaughlin. Senior Carson Y. and freshman Keanu P. again took first and second. Keanu was the first to finish with a 1 under par 35 and Carson followed with a 2 under 34. Finishing out the scoring were Ty S. (44) and Bailen T. (53). Congratulations are also in order for Mighty Mite Evan C. who, in his first match, showed great promise before being rushed off the course by the Hernando Oaks men's league. The team is 4-0 as they head into the heart of their schedule next week against Seven Rivers Christian and Cambridge Christian.

Varsity: All CDS competitors beat their previous time on Saturday at the Lecanto Invite @ Holloway Park! Way to go Patriots!

Tuesday – All three teams won against Indian Rocks! (MS Patriot, JV & V)

Friday – Congrats to our JV and Varsity teams for winning their games against Academy of the Holy Name!
