Mrs. Trudi Buscemi's Legacy at CDS
"CDS has been such a big part in shaping us into the women we have become, and Mrs. Buscemi is one of the instrumental people who made CDS an education emphasizing character, and we are so thankful for that. She never failed to make every student feel special with her warmth and kindness."
Casey & Chrissy Brynjolfsson '16 This year marks Trudi Buscemi's 34th year at Carrollwood Day School and her final year as Head of Lower School. Throughout her tenure at CDS, Mrs. Buscemi has lived the mission to provide Education with Character, leading and inspiring generations of CDS students, parents, and faculty. She has not only served our lower school as a division head, but also as the head of the middle school, and as a teacher at the ECC, elementary and middle school levels. Mrs. Buscemi's legacy of student-centered, holistic education and caring stewardship of her faculty will continue to have an impact on our school for years to come.
Mrs. Buscemi's influence on our youngest Patriots laid the foundation for their future success. We are excited to offer to the entire CDS community an opportunity to recognize and honor Mrs. Buscemi's dedication. Today, I am asking you to secure her legacy by helping us rename a place she spent so many hours doing the things she loved-our elementary multi-purpose room.Thinking of Mrs. Buscemi, I see her smiling face presiding over the school song at morning opening. I see her beaming with pride as first graders recite their poems for the first time. I see her conducting lower school students in a birthday song, making sure each and every Patriot is recognized and celebrated.
With support from the CDS community, we will rename the multi-purpose room in Trudi's honor as well as create a dedication wall honoring her and everyone who takes part in this special campaign.
By contributing to this initiative it leaves a lasting legacy of Mrs. Buscemi for years to come. Donate today to show your support and to help her receive the recognition she deserves.
Thank you, Patriot Nation, and congratulations to Mrs. Buscemi. You will be missed.
Sincerely,
Sara Rubinstein Head of School
