SCHOOL CLOSING UPDATE April 18, 2020
Dear Patriot Nation,
I want to begin by saying I miss all of you and the normalcy of all that occurs on our campuses on a day to day basis—we truly have something special going on at CDS! I am so proud to be part of this school and a member of the Patriot Nation. As you probably have heard, Governor DeSantis has directed all schools continue with distance learning through the end of this school year. Though disappointing and sad, this continued closure of schools is something we all have been anticipating. CDS will continue to deliver our top-notch distance learning program to ensure all of your children are prepared for their next steps!
This past week we also received confirmation from the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) that our virtual days will count towards credit for a full school year. Please help your children continue to remain fully engaged with their virtual classes and assignments. All work completed during distance learning through May 22 is being graded and attendance is being recorded and counts.
The last month of school is always a very special time. We traditionally come together to celebrate our students and the significant milestones in their educational journeys. The administration and faculty are working hard to redesign our end-of-year school traditions to keep them meaningful and memorable for our students and families. We will be sending more information on how you can join us for these very special events.
As I said before, We got this. We truly do. And we'll be stronger on the other side for it. I hope all of our families and students remain healthy and engaged with the Patriot Nation.
I look forward to seeing everyone back together.
With much gratitude for all of you, Ryan Kelly, Ed.D. Head of School Forward this message to a Friend © 2016 Carrollwood Day School If you wish to unsubscribe from these emails, please click here. |
