MESSAGE FROM SCHOOL NURSE

Medications

Medication

If any students currently have medications in the nurse's office, parents will need to pick them up by June 6, 2019. After that, Carrollwood Day School policy directs staff to discard any medication left at the school. We cannot hold medication over summer or send medications home with students.

The medication form completed by parents for the 2018-2019 school year will be void, a new one must be completed for 2019-2020. All medication and special health forms for next year can be found on Magnus Health.  The completed forms will need to be uploaded to Magnus Health; no student forms will be turned in to school.

    Portfolios
Showing Growth over the MYP 9th and 10th grade

As part of the Middle Years Programme, CDS students  create digital portfolios to showcase their learning in each class every year.  Each student recently uploaded pieces of work from their classes to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding  for the school year.

Please ask your child to share their portfolio on Schoology.

CLASS OF 2022 | PERSONAL PROJECTS

The Class of 2022 has embarked on the culminating experience of the IB Middle Years Programme. The Personal Project provides an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly personal and often creative product and to demonstrate a consolidation of their learning in the MYP. The project offers many opportunities for differentiation of learning and expression according to students’ individual needs. The personal nature of the project is important. This year's class has shown already a strong interest in building computers, learning sign language, volunteering in our Tampa Bay community and abroad, along with many other topics. Students are strongly encouraged to begin their work over the summer.

    RED NOSE DAY

    Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is a campaign with the mission to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy, and educated.

As part of their PYP Exhibition projects, Mrs. Theriault's and Mrs. Earle's fifth-grade classes have teamed up to encourage everyone to purchase red noses for Red Nose Day on May 23rd, 2019. Their goal is for the entire school to wear Red Noses on the 23rd to help end child poverty.

Red Noses are on sale now at Walgreens for $2 each.

As part of their promotion of Red Nose Day, NBC News Learn has posted to their website a video featuring CDS and our students' ongoing commitment to help those in need, whether it's children affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, or feeding the hungry in our own community. SUMMER ACADEMIC COURSES

    Register for Summer Camps

It’s time to TURN IT UP, again! Summer programs are just around the corner. And this summer, students entering grades 9-12 will be able to choose from two math bridge courses and five for-credit academic courses!

Why spend the summer in class? Students have the opportunity to excel as part of a small cohort focusing on one content area without other demands on their schedule. CDS summer classes help students advance in a subject area or fulfill a graduation requirement in order to free up space in their school-year schedule.
