Teachers of Teachers
Two CDS teachers have been tapped to lead sessions at the 2019 FCIS Convention in November. 5th grade teacher, Barbie Monty, will present Buncee: A Terrific Transdisciplinary Tool. MS Humanities teacher, Jennifer Stanley's presentation will be Student-Paced or Teacher-Led: NearPod to the Rescue!
* "Buncee" and "NearPod" are just two of the innovative teaching tools that make learning more engaging for students at CDS.
As one of the nation’s largest organizations of independent schools, the Florida Council of Independent Schools represents over 73,000 students in 158 member schools. The FCIS annual convention explores with school leaders and classroom educators the myriad and exciting opportunities for expanding learning environments in transformative ways. The theme for the 2019 FCIS Convention is Learn Today! Learn Tomorrow!

Red Nose Day is a campaign with the mission to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy, and educated.
As part of their PYP Exhibition projects, Mrs. Theriault's and Mrs. Earle's fifth-grade classes have teamed up to encourage everyone to purchase red noses for Red Nose Day on May 23rd, 2019. Their goal is for the entire school to wear Red Noses on the 23rd to help end child poverty.
Red Noses are on sale now at Walgreens for $2 each.
As part of their promotion of Red Nose Day, NBC News Learn has posted to their website a video featuring CDS and our students' ongoing commitment to help those in need, whether it's children affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, or feeding the hungry in our own community. Click here to view video.
Medications
If any students currently have medications in the nurse's office or at the ECC, parents will need to pick them up by June 6, 2019. After that, Carrollwood Day School policy directs staff to discard any medication left at the school. We cannot hold medication over summer or send medications home with students.
The medication form completed by parents for the 2018-2019 school year will be void, a new one must be completed for 2019-2020. All medication and special health forms for next year can be found on Magnus Health. The completed forms will need to be uploaded to Magnus Health; no student forms will be turned in to school.

2019-2020 Immunization Requirements
Please be aware of the immunization requirements that are mandated by the Florida Department of Health for students entering or attending school in Florida. A Florida Certification of Immunization (DH 680 form) provided by your child's physician documenting the required vaccinations must be uploaded to Magnus Health before the first day of school. (A new DH 680 form is required only if your child receives additional vaccinations.)
