SUPPORT RED NOSE DAY
Thursday, May 23
Red Nose Day is a campaign with the mission to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy, and educated.
As part of their PYP Exhibition projects, Mrs. Theriault's and Mrs. Earle's fifth-grade classes have teamed up to encourage everyone to purchase red noses for Red Nose Day on May 23rd, 2019. Their goal is for the entire school to wear Red Noses on the 23rd to help end child poverty.
Red Noses are on sale now at Walgreens for $2 each.
It’s time to TURN IT UP, again! Summer camp is just around the corner. Students in grades 1 - 5 can attend full or half-day themed camps along with 65 longtime favorite and new enrichment camps!
Questions: Reach out to Summer & Auxiliary Programs Coordinator, Melissa Hill.

If you are interested in potentially becoming a Room Representative for your child's class/homeroom for the 2019-2020 school year, then please add your name to the list by August 2!
We are currently collecting names of those parents who are interested in getting more involved for grades 1 - 5. Please add your name to each grade level that you would consider volunteering to be a Room Representative. Final selection will take place by September, after the students have been assigned to their classroom.
Please contact Andrea Esguerra or Andrea Cottrell, Elementary School Room Rep Coordinators, with questions.

ALL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS MUST BE DROPPED OFF AT THE ELEMENTARY ENTRANCE.
Elementary students cannot walk alone from the main building to the elementary campus. If you must bring your elementary child to school after 9:00 am when the east gate is locked, please enter through the west gate and drive through to the elementary school. Every child in grades 1 - 5 who arrives after 8:00 am must check in at the elementary office before reporting to his/her classroom.
Families with siblings in middle school or upper school who want to be dropped off at the main entrance will need to drive through both car lines.
Students in grades 2 - 4 will continue taking their Spring MAP tests, Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP) through May 14. 5th grade will take their tests following Exhibition on May 21 and 22. We give students MAP tests to determine each child's instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year.
This is an untimed test that your child will complete on a computer. There is no suggested preparation other than a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast. When not testing, classwork will carry on as usual.
Medications
If any students currently have medications in the nurse's office, parents will need to pick them up by June 6, 2019. After that, Carrollwood Day School policy directs staff to discard any medication left at the school. We cannot hold medication over summer or send medications home with students.
The medication form completed by parents for the 2018-2019 school year will be void, a new one must be completed for 2019-2020. All medication and special health forms for next year can be found on Magnus Health. The completed forms will need to be uploaded to Magnus Health; no student forms will be turned in to school.
Please contact Mrs. Silvers, CDS School Nurse, if you have any questions. (813.920.2288)
