Flu Alert! Mrs. Jackie Silvers, CDS School Nurse, reports three students have been diagnosed with influenza this week; the primary strain is A. While the good news is the CDC surveillance has Hillsborough and surrounding counties on the decline for flu, it is important that everyone continues to take preventive actions to help slow the spread of illness.
Please read this information from the CDC on how to prevent the spread of germs and help protect your family from getting sick.

The CDS Advancement Team would like to thank our entire school community for the dedication and support of this year’s 25th Annual Red Carpet Gala. With the support of our wonderful committee chairs, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and countless others, this year’s event brought in more funds for Carrollwood Day School students than any other year. Studio 54 saw over $240,000 in gross proceeds! In addition to bringing in record numbers, guests enjoyed a wonderfully decorated venue, unique live and silent auction items, precious class projects, delicious food, fellowship and, of course, dancing.
We look forward to making this event the “go to” event each year by tweaking and consistently improving. I hope our loyal volunteers will share their experience with other parents so we can begin to build a Gala committee for next year’s event. It really does take a “village” to make the Gala successful.
If you have feedback or suggestions for future events or would like to be a part of the Gala team next year, please email Sharon Spencer.
Thank you again for supporting

The Science of Happiness
We've all heard it: The more successful you are, the happier you are. But what if the opposite were true? What if being happier, actually made you more successful? The good news is that a growing body of research indicates that the thoughts and actions we choose can lead to a deeper sense of connection, meaning, and happiness. Check out Soul Pancake’s version of Sonja Lyubomirsky’s happiness research.
