Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball Team on their victory over Seffner Christian to become FHSAA 4A Region 2 Champions! They will compete for the state championship next week!

The Group 4 Project is an integral part of the science courses practical requirements, which counts for 20% of the science IB grade.

The presentations of the Group 4 Project this year will take place on Thursday February 28, 2019. Just a friendly reminder to mark your calendars for this date and avoid planning any out of school engagements for your children during this day. This is not an activity we can make up for an absent student because it is carried out in a group setting.

Topics to be covered pertinent to 10th grade students and parents will be:

  1. How do colleges review applicants from CDS?
  2. Standardized testing…. Who, what, when, where, why, and how do you prepare?
  3. Deconstructing and understanding one’s weighted and unweighted GPA
  4. What is it that colleges are seeking in terms of inside / outside classroom achievements?
  5. How do you determine what is considered a “good” college?
  6. The “college visit” …When do we begin to visit and how do we organize?
  7. Who sends what information where in the college application process? (What is the student responsible for and what is college counseling responsible for?)

Want to get a jump-start on scheduling individual 10th Grade Student/Parent Meetings?

The College Counseling Department has concluded mandatory individual meetings with 11th grade students and families and is ready to get a head start on mandatory sophomore meetings beginning February 1, 2019 through April 5, 2019. The meeting will include one, if not both, parents and student.
