IB GRANT WINNERS
Congratulations to two of Carrollwood Day School's outstanding teachers for qualifying for professional development grants from The Florida Association of IB World Schools:
Ashley Mabry, 4th grade teacher was awarded by FLIBS a grant for PYP Professional Excellence. The grant will cover attendance at an IB workshop for Concept-Driven Learners.
Tracey O'Neill, Upper School humanities teacher also received a FLIBS Professional Excellence award to attend the World History Association Conference in Puerto Rico this summer.
Mister Fred Rogers left us with many invaluable lessons we can pass on to our children and continue to learn as parents.
Join us for an amazing look at the life, lessons, and legacy of this beloved American icon. A portrait of a man whom we all think we know, this emotional and moving film takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the land of make-believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination.

League Robot Ruckus Championship (League Tournament) on Saturday, January 19, 2019. We are in need of ten adult volunteers to help with this event. Technical expertise is not needed, there are volunteer roles suited to everyone's interest. (Click here for more information.) Background checks are required so interested volunteers are encouraged to sign up early. Click here to sign up to volunteer.

During the week of January 14 - 18, the CDS Gala Committee is challenging our families to donate as many Family Entertainment Gift Cards as possible to be used in various baskets to be auctioned at our 25th Annual Red Carpet Gala – Studio 54 on March 8, 2019. Please send your gift cards in to the Administration Suite marked Attention: Gala Committee. Each week we will focus on another item needed to make our Studio 54 Gala a success.
Welcome back!
We hope you had a restful break and a Happy New Year!
Starting a New Year gives everyone an opportunity for reflection of the past year and provides some perspective for the year ahead. It is a great chance for some honest conversations at home with your children.
Here is an easy and meaningful way, from The Family Dinner Project, to do that:
Have family members write down their five proudest moments from the past year, as well as five things they’d like to accomplish in the new year. Once you’ve gathered for dinner, share your accomplishments and hopes!
