Bravo, Thespian Troupe #7235!
Congratulations US theater troupe 7235. They recently performed #Viral at the district one act competition earning extremely high marks. They performed flawlessly. Isabel M. ('21) earned the "All Star Cast" award for best performer and the entire cast won the "Best ensemble" award. The show earned two superiors and one excellent and missed the overall superior rating by the smallest margin. Congratulations to the cast for a beautiful performance.

Class of 2019
The semester examinations are designed to provide seniors with a formal examination environment they are likely to experience in their May IB exams next semester. All senior semester exams will be given at Congregation Kol Ami, 3919 Moran Road, Tampa, FL 33618. This will also be the site for the IB exams in May.
During the week of December 17 - 20, the CDS Gala Committee is challenging our families to donate as many Restaurant Gift Cards as possible to be used in various baskets to be auctioned at our 25th Annual Red Carpet Gala – Studio 54 on March 8, 2019. Please send your gift cards in to the Administration Suite marked Attention: Gala Committee. Each week we will focus on another item needed to make our Studio 54 Gala a success.

TIME TO SCHEDULE INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS
11th Grade Student/Parent Meetings
The College Counseling Department will conduct mandatory junior meetings between December 11 – 19, 2018 and January 9 - 25, 2019 only. The meeting will include one, if not both, parents and student.
These customized meetings will cover the individual student’s college selection and application process to include an assessment of current academic achievement, testing timeline, and creation of initial college application list.

COLLEGE COUNSELING CLASS FOR JUNIORS
College counselors will meet with 11th grade students for 35-minute classes during advisory time on Tuesdays during 2nd semester in January and March - May.
Class topics and assignments will include creating college application lists, crafting resumes, completing college applications, writing college essays, and practicing interview techniques.

This is the last day of school before winter break. MS/US Study Hall WILL BE AVAILABLE from noon until 4:00 pm. Students staying for Study Hall will need to bring lunch from home.

Carrollwood Day School is partnering with Rustic Pathways to offer this 8-day once in a lifetime adventure for students in the Classes of 2020 and 2021. (Next year's 11th & 12th grade students.) We are only able to accommodate a maximum of 20 students so register now to reserve your spot!
La Niña Andina will give students the opportunity to delve into the issues surrounding gender inequality in Peruvian education. They will explore and discuss the realities of access and obstacles to education with local students and participate in meaningful service projects with the Sacred Valley Project.
In addition to service projects, students will take in the grandeur of the Andean peaks, explore the bustling Incan capital of Cusco, and hike the ancient Incan ruins of Machu Picchu!
The final day to register is January 18th, 2019.
