2018-2019 SCHOOL DIRECTORY

School Directory

The 2018-2019 Student Directories have arrived!

One directory was sent home earlier this week to each family with a child in ECC through middle school and to upper school families who ordered a directory at the beginning of the year.

An online directory is always available to parents on My BackPack.

SUPPORT THE PERFORMING ARTS @ CDS

Become a Friend of the Performing Arts

Friends of the Performing Arts

Friends of the Performing Arts (FOPA) provide support for all performing art productions produced at CDS throughout the year. Members at all levels receive free admission to all CDS Performing Arts productions with additional benefits available based on the level of membership.

This is the perfect time to join FOPA.

  • The first performance of the 2018-2019 season will be on Saturday, November 10. The season opens with a combined MS & US One Act Festival
  • On Saturday, December 1, the upper school DP students will perform the deeply moving play, The Laramie Project. As with last year's performance of I Never Saw Another Butterfly, CDS performers are committed to shining a light on the power of hope, even in times of darkness.
  • The final production of the season will bring everyone's favorite nanny, Mary Poppins to the CDS stage!

ADMISSIONS NEWS

DON'T MISS OUT!
ADMISSIONS FOR CDS SIBLINGS

Siblings

Our Admissions Department has been very busy giving tours and meeting with families interested in enrolling their children at CDS next year.  Based on current enrollment and applicant interest, we know that we will be full in several grades. In order to avoid disappointment for current families with children they would like to enroll at CDS for the first time next year, we are asking our current families to notify the admissions department ASAP about those siblings so that we may start planning.  Please email Charlotte Benziger to start the admissions process and to place your name on the list.

Applications are available now for new students, while re-enrollment information for current CDS students will be sent home in January.

COUNSELORS' CORNER

Manage Screen Time

iOS 12 introduces new features to reduce interruptions and manage Screen Time

Addressing the topic of social media regularly is important because it is constantly developing and students are almost always “plugged in.”

Since we do support technology at CDS and encourage students to have and use devices, we always want to inform and update parents of any new supports we find that could be beneficial in ensuring your child has a safe and healthy screen time balance.

iOS 12 has introduced a new feature to reduce interruptions and manage screen time. Parents can now set downtime restrictions, see the amount of time certain apps and websites are accessed, set time limits for specific apps, and more.

Please spend some time getting familiar with the new options available through the update and how you can assist your child in ensuring they have a healthy balance to their screen time usage.
