POINTS OF PRIDE

Cereal for Summer Food Drive

Our elementary campus collected 315 pounds of cereal and the ECC collected 171 pounds of cereal. This means collectively, our school raised a total of 5,832 MEALS for our food insecure neighbors this summer!! Wow, what an incredible number! We cannot thank our CDS families enough for partnering with us to provide breakfast for kids throughout this season.  We could not have done this without our CDS families.  Thank you so much for helping make our food drive a huge success.

Inspired by her class PYP Exhibition project, 5th grader Avery S., continues to take action to fight hunger. While in North Carolina this past weekend, she spent time volunteering @FoodBankCENC!

Way to go, Avery!

BE PREPARED FOR 2018-2019

Back-to-School

Be Prepared for 2018-2019

Please visit the 2018 Back-to-School page on the CDS website for important information that parents and students will need to know to be prepared for next year. In addition to a reminder about Magnus Health, you will find school supply lists, technology requirements, summer assignments, requirements for athletes, and more! This page will continue to be updated throughout the summer.

Magnus Health

Great news! Carrollwood Day School's Magnus Health portal is now active! CDS is using this secure online system to collect and manage all student health information and other vital school forms. Because this is the first year CDS is using this system and each child's record needs to be set up, it is expected to take about 20-30 minutes to complete for each child. After this year, it will take just a few minutes to provide updates to your child's record as needed.

All forms and information must be completed / uploaded to the Magnus Health portal by August 1, 2018.

SUMMER READING

Summer Reading

All students are encouraged to read over the summer.

Teachers have prepared lists of suggested authors and books that children entering grades 1 - 4 should enjoy reading. Select appropriate books to read with your child. Spending time reading with your child is one of the greatest gifts they will ever receive. Students entering grade 5 have an assigned book to read over the summer.(Current 5th grade students should refer to the MS summer reading list for their summer reading assignment.)

Students entering 6th grade also have a math packet to complete over the summer:

2018 YEARBOOK

Every student at Carrollwood Day School receives a copy of the school yearbook. The 2018 Yearbook has arrived and will be distributed to elementary students on the last day of school.

GET INVOLVED IN 2018-2019

Volunteer

The Room Representative acts as the liaison between the teacher and the parents, coordinates class volunteers, and facilitates events held "outside the classroom" (International Festival, class Auction/Gala involvement, Staff Appreciation activities, etc.). Periodic meetings are held to discuss the details of upcoming events. Meeting notes and parent information letters are provided for the representative to communicate with parents. It is a great way to get involved and stay connected!

We are currently collecting names of those parents who are interested in getting more involved for the elementary grades. If you are interested in potentially becoming a Room Representative for your child's class/homeroom for the next school year, please click on the link below to add your name to the list by August 3rd. Please add your name to each grade level that you would consider volunteering to be a Room Rep. Final selection will take place by September, after the students have been assigned to their classroom. (Please note: Placing your name on this list does not guarantee that you will be asked to serve as a Room Rep for your child's classroom. Room Rep assignments are based on supply/demand, teacher needs, etc.

Please contact Andrea Esguerra , ECC and Elementary School Room Rep Coordinator, with questions.
