ATTENTION 9TH GRADE STUDENTS
French Exchange Program

We are exploring the possibility of introducing a French Student Exchange Program in 2018 for 9th and 10th grade students. We have been contacted by a school in Sables d'Olonne, France.  They are looking for a sister school with whom to do a student exchange next year. CDS students do not need to be taking French class to participate in this exchange. Learn more...

CLASS OF 2018 - GROUP 4 PROJECT

Group 4 Project

February 22, 2017

It is the time of year when the juniors start working on their Group 4 Project. The Group 4 Project is an interdisciplinary collaborative activity where small teams of students work together on a scientific or technological topic. The purpose of this activity is to "become critically aware, as global citizens, of the ethical implications of using science and technology",  "develop and apply 21st century communication skills in the study of science," and "develop an understanding of the relationships between scientific disciplines and their influence on other areas of knowledge." This project is an integral part of the science courses' practical requirements, which count for 20% of the science IB grade.

This year the Group 4 Project will take place on Wednesday February 22, 2017. This is a friendly reminder to mark your calendars for this date and avoid planning any out of school engagements for your children during this day. This is not an activity we can make up for an absent student because it is carried out in a group setting.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and we appreciate your support. The students are eager and looking forward for this day.

Senior Notes

Thank you to the senior parents that attended the Senior Parent Meeting this morning.  Click here for the Updated Senior Notes.

 Senior Class Gift

It is a tradition for the senior class and their families to fund a project/item and donate it to the school as a tribute to their experiences at CDS.

Patriot Pride Logo

The Class of 2017 would like to commission an extra large flag with the CDS Patriot Eagle logo on it and a flagpole. The flag and pole will be dedicated from the Class of 2017 and will complement our wonderful new sports fields! To reach our goal, we will need to raise at least $3,500. Please donate now to this class gift and help to create a legacy for your graduating senior from the Class of 2017. Donations must be made by April 1, 2017.

CLASS OF 2018 - COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS

College

During the second semester of their junior year, students need to prepare for continuing their education at a college or university. To help with this process, each junior and his/her parent will meet with Mr. Gonzalo Garcia, Director of College Guidance. This meeting will review the timeline from the search process, through the application process, concluding with the decision. It will also provide an opportunity to create a thoughtful, appropriate college search. The financial aid process will be reviewed as well.

Please contact Mr. Garcia directly to set up an appointment.
