CELEBRATING THE CDS CLASS OF 2020

CDS Class of 2020, you have faced unprecedented changes and challenges as you complete your senior year. Yet at all times, you responded with the resiliency and empathy you have demonstrated throughout your years at CDS.  You are true Patriots, living examples of the CDS mission to create empathetic scholars, ready to better themselves and the world. This page celebrates you by sharing your successes and your stories. Here is to the class of 2020! #WeAreCDS #PatriotNation

The past two-days are some of the most poignant in my career. We were able to defy the odds, pivot quickly, safely, and provide in-person graduation for our class of 2020.  A dedicated group of administrators, faculty, and staff was not about to let all that’s going in the world stop us from ensuring our seniors left CDS with an ability to process into Pomp and Circumstance and receive a diploma, in person, with their family watching.  I’m so proud of CDS and all that made the past two-days possible!  Go, Patriots!  Dr. Ryan Kelly, Head of School

Life affords precious few rites of passage, and we knew we wanted to preserve this one for our seniors. Our goal was to give our students and families something very few graduates are getting this year--a sense of closure, a live celebration of their accomplishment, a well-deserved moment in the spotlight, and their parents' long-awaited chance to fill with pride when they hear their child's name called and see them walk across the stage to receive that diploma. We were determined to do it the CDS way--looking out for our students' safety first and making everything as personal and special as possible for our families. I think we succeeded. It was a graduation I will never forget--12 ceremonies in 48 hours, each one as happy as the next. I don't think our seniors and parents will ever forget it, either. And I hope what they remember most is just how valued they are by all of us at CDS, the staff, administration, and faculty. We are so proud of you, Class of 2020. Go Patriots!  Ms. Sara Rubinstein, Head of Upper School, Assistant Head of School for Academics
