Virtually Speaking

The CDS Speech and Debate team continues to excel as their competitions move to a virtual platform.

Speech and Debate tournaments look a lot different this year as competitions at schools around the country are being held virtually on the National Speech and Debate Association Campus’ online platform. 

Virtual Speech and Debate Tournament

The CDS Speech and Debate Team participated in their second tournament of the year this past Saturday with the following results:

  • Hailee S. ('23) finished 2nd place in Declamation Speech
  • Vikram B. ('23) finished 2nd in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
  • Carter C. ('23) finished 3rd in Lincoln-Douglas Debate

The CDS Speech & Debate Team is coached by high school humanities teacher, Paul Jannereth and participates in local and national events. CDS is a member of the National Speech and Debate Association, and participating in the tournaments allows students to earn a Membership to the National Speech and Debate Association Honor Society.
