The Great Pumpkin Creative Writing Contest

7th grade language and literature students take on the challenge!

When 7th grade language and literature students walked into class last week, their teacher, Mrs. Frankel, had something waiting for them. Some called it ugly. Some said it was so ugly it was cute. Some were left speechless.

Mrs. Frankel, introduced the "ugly" pumpkin and told her students that they were all going to be a part of The Great Pumpkin Creative Writing Contest. Any style of writing was allowed, be it narrative, poetry, descriptive, etc. The only qualifications...focus on word choice and think outside the box!

There were stories about how this special pumpkin came to be, pumpkin adoptions, pumpkin super heroes, and even a nuclear pumpkin created by a very special farmer.

Well done writers! Watch below for a small sample of these excellent essayists.
