The CDS Speech & Debate Club participated in their first virtual tournament on Saturday, October 24th where sophomores, Carter C. & Vikram B. took 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. CDS Speech & Debate also welcomed newcomers Nathan F. ('23) who competed in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Aditi K.('24) and Hailee S. ('23) who both completed in Declamation Speech. Well done debaters!

The CDS Speech & Debate Team is coached by high school humanities teacher, Paul Jannereth and participates in local and national events. CDS is a member of the National Speech and Debate Association, and participating in the tournaments allows students to earn a Membership to the National Speech and Debate Association Honor Society. The Team's next tournament is scheduled for November 14; the Team always appreciates new talent and interested upper school students should contact Mr. Jannereth for more information.
