Felicidades to the officers and 18 new inductees to Los Patriotas Chapter of La Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad.
La Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad, Los Patriotas Chapter, is the Carrollwood Day Middle School Spanish Honor Society. The Los Patriotas Chapter at Carrollwood Day School is a society that recognizes scholarship, fellowship and service by middle school students. Eligible students have maintained by the end of their 7th grade year, a 93% or better average in Spanish in their course of study.
Having fulfilled the requirements for membership into this prestigious organization, the inductees were honored for their high achievements in the study of the Spanish language at their candlelight induction ceremony on Friday, April 23, 2021, in the CDS Theatre. A Spanish themed reception followed in the Scaglione Family Pavilion where the students enjoyed churros con chocolate and empanadas.

The Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad, is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) and was formally organized in the year 2000. The purpose of the society is to promote cross-cultural acceptances and understanding in students of Spanish and to encourage service to school and community. At the heart of the Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad are activities in three areas: ambassadorship, service to community and service to school.
