FBLA wins ticket to States

CDS MS and US FBLA members bring home 7 1st place awards from their tough district competition.

Like so many activities this year, Carrollwood Day School’s middle school and upper school Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members had a different experience at the district competition this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. But our future business leaders did not miss a beat as they pivoted to compete and excel in this new format. Our students distinguished themselves as they competed against powerhouse schools in our district – including Hillsborough High School, the longest standing FBLA chapter in Florida.

Here are all the district winners that are invited to compete at the virtual State competition in March:

Upper School

  • Lillie S. (’22) - 1st Place Advertising
  • Courtney T. (’22) - 1st Place Business Law
  • Morgan A. (’24) - 1st Place Digital Video Production
  • Jessie G. (’22) & Laney H. (’22) - 1st Place E-Business
  • Rohan K. (’22) & Dhillon P. (’22) - 1st Place PSA Video Production
  • Gabe M. (‘22) - 1st Place Securities & Investments

Middle School:

  • Aarnav C. (’25) - 1st Place Business Math & Financial Literacy
  • Leo A. (’25) - 3rd Place Business Math & Financial Literacy

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational association of student members preparing for careers in business or who are just simply interested in learning more about the free enterprise system. FBLA helps students develop leadership abilities, and prepare for entry into, and advancement within, a business or business-related occupation.

Thanks you to Mrs. Lindsey Montague and Ms. Tracy O’Neill for sponsoring the CDS chapter of FBLA and making these opportunities possible for our aspiring business leaders.
