Two fearless CDS 2nd graders, Nico G. and Elar H., represented CDS in the SCA Kids Chess Championship last week. The CDS team took first place in the tournament! They prepared for this championship months in advance by practicing and being coached by Ryan Statz in CDS's After School Chess Club. They competed against 15 kids from the age of 7 to 10. Individually Nico earned 1st place and Elar earned 4th place.
