I sincerely appreciate your interest in Carrollwood Day School. It is a very special school with a wonderful educational program and lots of academic and extra-curricular opportunities. I hope the information available on our website will help you make your decision about your child’s enrollment in CDS.

Carrollwood Day School is a non-sectarian, co-educational, independent school. The school features two campuses: one which was designed for the developmental needs of our youngest students in toddler through kindergarten classes on Casey Road, and the other campus for our first through twelfth grades on Bearss Avenue.

At Carrollwood Day School we believe education involves the whole child. Superior academics is very important but so is character development, physical stamina and emotional intelligence. CDS provides an outstanding education, an unsurpassed character education initiative, a highly qualified staff, and a caring learning community. Small classes and a safe environment are essential to student success.

CDS is an authorized Primary Years (ages 3-12), Middle Years (ages 11-16) and Diploma Programme (ages 16-19)  International Baccalaureate World School. Carrollwood Day School is the sixth school in the United States and the only school in Florida to achieve authorization in all three programs. We are also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Florida Kindergarten Council, Florida Council of Independent Schools, and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Our school strives to fulfill our mission statement by developing lifelong learners. We want our students to truly enjoy the thrill of discovering new ideas and applying new concepts. A variety of teaching methods and assessments are used throughout the school. Curiosity, self-motivation and a cooperative spirit are encouraged in our students. An atmosphere of respect, consistency, and concern nourishes each child’s natural desire to learn.
