The
CDS curriculum is designed to awaken the intelligence of students and
teach them to connect school subjects with the world outside. CDS
middle and high school programs challenge highly motivated and
academically talented students, but by design meet the needs of all
students. Elective courses help to create a rich learning experience
for high school students, enabling them to develop their interests and
to show their talents in different areas. CDS is one of six schools in
the U.S. authorized to offer the full continuum of International
Baccalaureate (IB) programmes from preschool through high school.
Commitment to Community and Service
At
CDS, our students are encouraged to give back to the community. CDS
embraces the mission statement of the IBO, which strives to develop
“caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful
world through intercultural understanding and respect.”
CDS
strongly believes that its students should be involved in extra
curricular activities. This requirement allows students to participate
in a variety of school activities, yet at the same time, provides them
with a counterbalance to their academic studies.
