MS Spanish Honor Society shares the holiday spirit with First Grade
In the days leading up to Winter Break, the middle school Spanish Honor Society partnered with first graders to share a little holiday cheer!
The eighth grade Spanish Honor Society students spent their lunchtime with Mrs. Mitties’s first grade class, where they gathered in the lower school media center to read favorite children’s books written in Spanish. After reading the books together, the students - young and old(er) – shared their holiday wish lists and plans for Winter Break. The eighth graders also reminisced about when they were in first grade, which seemed so long ago! Many of the eighth graders even recalled that Mrs. Mitties had been their teacher.
As the visit wrapped up, each first grader received a special gift from the Spanish Honor Society – a pencil, a candy cane, and an ornament that read “Feliz Navidad.” Finally, together, the students sang “Feliz Navidad,” putting everyone in the holiday spirit!
