HS and ECC students team up for a morning of fun and sharing
Challenge - accepted! As part of the ongoing kindness challenge at Carrollwood Day School, high school students in Ms. Holyman's and Mr. Morrisroe's advisories accepted the challenge issued by Miss Kati and Miss Jean’s prekindergarten class, and decided their act of kindness would be to go down to the ECC to spend time with their young friends. The high schoolers surprised everyone when they showed up at the ECC on the CDS school bus Wednesday morning. They all spent the next two hours together, reading books in big room, playing games on the field and even eating lunch outside. As PreK student Makenzie reported to her mom, “I had the best day in my whole life at school today! The ‘upgraders’ [upper school students] were awesome!"

The CDS kindness challenge was launched last month by Ms. Tanya’s prekindergarten class, and the wave of kindness has hit CDS full-on! There have been individual acts, such as the kindergarten girl who left a note of thanks and a water bottle for her mail carrier, and group acts, like the trio of kindergarten friends who delivered stuffed animals to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
If you have an act of kindness you’d like to share, please post it to our Facebook page and tag as #CDSWaveofKindness
