Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair Results 2017
February 14 was a big day for Carrollwood Day School scientists. Three CDS who were experienced HRSTEM Finalists, Libby McCaffrey (’21), Nisanth Aremanda (’20) and Aksheta Kanuganti (’20) were invited to serve as Ambassadors to speak with a group of VIP Donors prior to the opening of the exhibits. This year CDS had entries from second grade through high school! CDS projects received an impressive collection of awards:
- 1 memorial award
- 4 special awards
- 8 students placed in their categories including three 1st place winners and
- 4 students were selected to move onto state competition!
The STEM Fair program at CDS is led by MS science teacher, Mrs. Carrie Prieto who mentors students through the MS STEM Club who wish to complete an independent investigation for entry to the Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair. She came home from this year’s awards ceremony beaming, "Carrollwood Day School was mentioned a total of 17 times this evening!”
Congratulations to all these outstanding young scientists!
