On February 26-27, our IB Primary Years Programme (Nursery-5th grade) will take part in an evaluation visit from the IB organization. Over the past year and a half, the Board of Trustees, lower school administrators, teachers, students and parents participated in a self-study that the IB team will verify and then conduct their own findings.
The IB site visit team will be meeting with members of our Board of Trustees, parents, teachers, administrators and students throughout their visit. They will also observe teaching and learning in the classrooms.
IB evaluations occur every 5 years to provide feedback on how our school is meeting the IB Standards and Practices.
It's time to sign up for Session 3!
Learning does not stop at the end of the school day. Students can choose from a variety of after-school programs designed to create enthusiasm for learning while building creativity, imagination and positive social skills. These programs are offered by CDS staff and other professionals who want to share their talent and passion for their field.

The third grade will be visiting the Henry B. Plant Museum on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Students will need to bring lunch with them. Flik is now set up to provide box lunches for school field trips!
Box lunches include choice of sandwich/wrap with chips, fruit, and water for $6.00. Please be sure that your child has a payment account for lunches set up at MySchoolBucks.com. Charges for box lunches will be billed to this account.
Orders must be received by 3:00 pm on Monday, February 12.
5th Grade Human Growth & Development
Friday, January 19
1:30 pm
On Friday, January 19 at 1:30 pm, the fifth grade boys and girls will attend a human growth and development presentation at CDS provided by health educators from St. Joseph’s Children’s Advocacy Center. The girls and boys will be in separate locations and will receive information relevant to their gender. We invite and encourage mothers to attend with their daughters, and fathers to attend with their sons. If necessary, opposite-gender parents may attend with their child. The presentations will last approximately an hour and a half. The presentation for the girls will be located in the library and the boys will be in the multipurpose room. You are welcome to take your child with you immediately following the presentation. All students must return a signed permission slip to be able to attend these presentations.

Calling All 4th and 5th Grade Runners!
Track & Field season starts at the end of January. The 4th & 5th Grade Running Club will practice and compete with the MS Track & Field Team. Both groups will participate together as the CDS team in meets at Berkeley Preparatory School. The athletic fee for Running Club is $125.00 and will be billed through FACTS. Students should attend the first day of practice in order to be on the team roster.
All participants must have the following forms on file:
- 4th and 5th grade students in running club and track and field must have a current physical on file (within the last twelve months prior to the start of the season)
- CDS Sports Conduct Form [due annually at the start of every school year, before student's first day of practice - students must sign also]
