US PARENTS' COFFEE

US Parent Coffee

8:30 a.m. ~ Elementary Multi-Purpose Room

Sara Rubinstein, Head of Upper School, invites parents to attend the next US Parents' Coffee. These monthly get togethers feature a discussion on a topic of particular interest to parents.

The topic for the December coffee is College Counseling. Director of College Counseling, Mr. Joseph Runge, will focus on the college process for those families in the early years of upper school or transitioning from the middle school to upper school at CDS. Content will include:

  • An overview of the five-year developmental college counseling program at CDS (grades 8-12)
  • What college admission offices value regarding in-classroom and out of classroom achievement
  • Standardized test preparation and timely PSAT, Pre-ACT, SAT, ACT assessment
  • Gender and geographical preferences, major application strategy, and merit scholarship qualification will also be reviewed.

Parents are encouraged to attend this event, as much of the information to be reviewed will help you assist your children through the college counseling and college admissions processes in the future.

Parents’ Coffee Mornings will be held once a month (generally on Tuesday mornings) at 8:30 a.m.

Additional coffees will be held on:
January 16, February 6, March 6, and April 3. Check the school calendar for information about each of these programs.
