After Care Hours and Dates

After Care is available until 6:00 pm every day there is school with the exception of Friday, December 2, 2016 and the Friday before spring break (March 17, 2017).  There will also be NO After Care at the Bearss Avenue Campus, only on Friday, October 28. After Care is offered on half-days. Students who stay for after care on half-days need to bring lunch and a beverage.

After School Pick Up Locations
Bearss Avenue Campus

All after school clubs and activities dismiss from the west side by International Square, across from the Wagner Athletic Complex. Students who are not picked up within 15 minutes of their club's dismissal time will be escorted to After Care in the elementary multi-purpose room.

Elementary After Care dismisses on the east side in the school bus loop

KidCheck®
CDS uses KidCheck® to provide an online check in/check out system for the safety and tracking of our children. Every elementary and ECC family should create an account. This assures that our after care program is equipped to care for your child in the event that unplanned circumstances prevent you from picking up your child at the regular dismissal time. If you used KidCheck last year, your account is still active.

AFTER SCHOOL @CDS FOR MS AND HS

Middle school and high school students are welcome to remain on campus after dismissal. The administration has established new after school policies to enable students to remain on campus after school and attend home athletic games in our Patriots new gym and athletic fields. These policies will be reviewed throughout the year and may be revised as we continue to grow into our new facilities.

MS/HS Study Hall

No student will be allowed to "hang out" on campus unsupervised after dismissal. By 4:00 p.m. all students must be in an extracurricular activity (working with a teacher, attending an after school program, athletic team practice, drama/music rehearsal, etc.) or report to the supervised MS/HS study hall that will be held in the MS/HS Multi-Purpose Room. Parents will not be billed a fee for students to attend this study hall. At this time, students who are not participating in an athletic team practice session are not allowed to be in the gymnasium or fitness center after school. These facilities are fully booked by the fall athletic teams. However, it is possible that later in the year supervised open gym/fitness times may be offered.

All students reporting to MS/HS study hall must sign in and sign out.

  • Students will be allowed to sign themselves out of study hall when their ride home arrives or to go to a sports event; parents will not need to come in to sign out their child. Parents should call or text students once they have arrived on campus. Some cell service does not work inside the school building; if you are unable to contact your child directly, parents should call the school (813.920.2288) and the Welcome Center will notify the study hall supervisor to dismiss your child.

Once a child is signed out of study hall, he/she will not be allowed to return. Once children are signed out of study hall, they will no longer be supervised by CDS faculty.

After Care

Middle school students are still welcome to attend the After Care program that is held in the Elementary Multi-Purpose Room. Parents must have a KidCheck® account for all students who attend the After Care program in the Elementary Multi-Purpose Room. Click here for more information about After Care.
