HEAR YE! HEAR YE! SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

Middle School Shakespeare Festival
Friday, February 24, 2017
DISMISSAL: 1:00 pm - MS ONLY

Shakespeare Festival

Shakespeare Festival is a long-standing tradition at CDS. The entire middle school studies one of Shakespeare's plays. The students conceive, write, direct, and produce their own class plays using contemporary settings and contemporary types of genre to emulate Shakespeare's plot lines.

Don't Forget
All middle school students are expected to come dressed in Renaissance attire. The costumes do not have to be elaborate and can be put together with clothes you already have in your closet. Boys can wear their pants pushed to the knee with a large shirt and a belt. Girls can wear a long skirt and a vest. If you need costume ideas, please click here for suggestions.

Send your teacher to jail!
Teachers have an envelope in their classrooms. The teacher with the most donations will get to spend time in jail during the Shakespeare Festival. All proceeds will go to the RCMA, a center for migrant children.  Check out the video for more information.

ATTENTION 8TH GRADE STUDENTS!
French Exchange Program

We are exploring the possibility of introducing a French Student Exchange Program in 2018 for 9th and 10th grade students. We have been contacted by a school in Sables d'Olonne, France.  They are looking for a sister school with whom to do a student exchange next year. CDS students do not need to be taking French class to participate in this exchange. Learn more...
